Terrain Add Ons:

Post by Jeff La Belle on 12/7/2017, 5:42 pm

-Mats with Square grids – Noted that there are a lot of grids on the mats, making this a little easier. There’s also the DIY approach with a marker. Girds were added on a later shot of Zed’s bar.
- Purge Ship
-Station (Space?) - Note that the Galactic Add On could act as this.
-Alien Planet – Note that the Shanty Town Map provides desert terrain.
Ship interiors for boarding actions or a galactic cruiser for "prisoner rescue" – The Current Terrain can be used for this.
Ship exteriors for those space ship missions. – The Current Terrain can used for this, to an extent.
Complete Ships – Possible, but really through an expansion/spin off. The ships do look a bit Serenity like, going by the boards.
-Infested Pack – No plans for this. Note that this is currently in the Battle Systems shop.
-Best of Add Ons combining some of the older add-ons from previous sets – Teleporter Add On J and Reactor as part of Add on K has covered some of this.
- Mechanical Purge Takeover in the same mold as the Infestation of the previous KS
-Fire or Blasted/ Damaged equivalents again as per Infestation terrain.
-Cyberpunk decoration including dumpsters or trash/graffiti etc – Note that Urban Apocalypse terrain from the shop may fit some of this.
-Interior stuff for shops, like weapons/items shelves, display cases, food vendors etc. - Note that Urban Apocalypse terrain, available from the shop, may fit some of this.
-Medbay equipment for a backstreet doctor
-Clean Walls upgrade from Sci Fi I
-Data jacks and matrix decks. There are two data equipment for hanging terminals. One for short and one for medium range, handy for some objectives.
-As holographic tech is present, a holo deck add on offering mini expansions to different environments – No Holodeck is planned.
-Cross over elements from the previous sets in different colours or with different art? I.e. cargo crates in colours other than red / yellow, different colour chairs (maybe purple?!), different art for the work stations / consoles and even airlock doors? – Tweaks and changes to art to items in this Kickstarter is planned
-A Medi-Lab containment adjusted to become an airlock. This could also create tubeways.
-Arc door inserts like the jail force fields form the Sci Fi set – For rescue missions.
-A half set of terrain in the new cyberpunk style to turn the box contents into multi levels. – Note that the terrain only Add On -B would also do this.
-Floor Tiles
-Girders that come down on both sides and with slots on the top – to work with SCI Fi II to support all the railings/ gantries. – May make it into a sheet
-Please consider adding spawn markers with the numbers 7-12 so that we can cover all entrances on a big map. Getting hold of d12 should be no problem for most gamers - Good point, we have this noted already, space willing we hope to do this. Smile
-Turbines from previous sets - As we progress through the campaign we will add more add-ons so let see what happens and what peeps want to see, same for bundles too, that could come after funding based on the above. Later, Probably won't do the turbines as they're so readily available
-Purple plasma reactor
- If a ship is parked off a space station, will we have to have some sort of vents created from, say 2 containment parts of the med bay or will it be a space walk that requires all the air from an airlock to be Purged? Smile
-Spaceship stuff - wings
-Elevators - Elevators available in the Frontier and Galactic Add-ons
-Urban style elevators
- Crawlspaces
- how about "wanted poster" tokens of each character or something like that for a "bounty" scenario... where it is in a crate so you know whom to go after .. once opened and found? - Thats a cracking idea, anyone could have a bounty on their heads and until you find the poster, nobody knows. lol Not sure if anyone has noticed, but Zed already has a bounty on his head on one of the cyber display signs Smile
-Landing Pad
-Tea Machine
-Laundromat
-Washing/ toilet facilities
-I was wondering if at some point you could other planets instaed of ships and outposts. Whilst these are excellent terrain as is I just keep thinking about how cool a jungle planet or ice planet would be.- when we designed the SF2 KS terrain it was with this game in mind. So we have locations of Frontier, (a bit run down, but useable) Galactic (super shiny central) Outposts, (Outland style worlds) and Gothic, for super sci-fi with a more .. well gothic feel)
Yes the other terrain sets will have mission... to in this KS I suspect, but we made a choice right from the start to use all our sci-fi terrain in future missions. Core Space will had dedicated mission to that terrain of course, but in addition we will have other mission logs available for our other ranges too. Imagine a campaign that starts with you picking up a crew on an outlandish world, then working them on mission around shanty towns, getting your ship and taking on missions in the outer stations of the Frontier and Cyberpunk settings, to finally take on a mission in the hart of the Galactic's arms
- bunk beds from the Sc-Fi 1 (or similar) make a return. Great for crew quarters, prison cells, etc. The urban set had single beds which was fine but would love to get some bunk beds.

Mats with Square grids (it was noted that there are a lot of grids already on the mats, making this a little easier. There’s also the DIY approach with a marker.) - Grids were added on later shots of Zed’s bar.

Ship/ Station: Exteriors/ Interiors for boarding, rescue, HQ etc. including interiors of Trader ships (crew quarters with bunk beds, living quarters, bridge, cargo holds), Prisons and Galactic HQs– Much of the existing Sci-Fi terrain already has the function for this, although things like ship wings are not in the scope of those. The final Shipboards may take the role of this in game. It was noted that not much game action occurs *in* the ships, as the game is centered around the bases/ space stations provided by the terrain.

Moonbase. Using the concept of the Geodesic Dome from Sci FI II. – See Exterior/ Interior above.

Planet Terrain. Ice & Jungle planet and Aline Mines suggested – Note that the Shanty Town Map provides desert terrain. – BS said: “when we designed the SF2 KS terrain it was with this game in mind. So we have locations of Frontier, (a bit run down, but useable) Galactic (super shiny central) Outposts, (Outland style worlds) and Gothic, for super sci-fi with a more .. well gothic feel)

Infested Pack – Add On K provided Infested terrain. More is available in the Battle Systems shop.

Mechanical Purge Takeover in the same mold as the Infestation of the previous KS. Could also lead to a Purge Ship Interior/ Exterior. - Nothing indicated as yet.

Fire or Blasted/ Damaged equivalents again as per Infestation terrain. - Nothing indicated as yet.

Best of Add On: combining some of the older add-ons from previous sets – Teleporter Add On J and the Reactor as part of Add on K has covered some of this.

Cyberpunk decoration including dumpsters or trash/graffiti etc – Note that Urban Apocalypse terrain from the shop fits some of this.

Interiors for shops/ facilities: weapons/item shelves; display cases; food vendors; bunk beds from the Sc-Fi 1; Tea Machine; Laundromat; Washing/ toilet facilities were suggested – The Urban Apocalypse terrain, available from the Battle Systems shop, may fit some of this.

Facilities: shopping malls; schools; hospitals; habitation blocks; science labs were suggested. – Previous Sci Fi and Urban Apocalypse sets, available as Addons and/ or from the Battle Systems shop has some of this.

Cyberpunk Building textures - dark buildings covered neon lights, strange shops (red light) dirty alleyways suggested – Nothing indicated as yet.

Medbay equipment for a backstreet doctor – There’s a Medical Research Lab is available form the Battle Systems shop.

Ship Umbilical - Converted Medi-Lab containment walls could be adjusted to become an umbilical between a station and a ship. It could also be used for crawlspaces/ vents within a station. - Nothing indicated as yet.

Crawlspaces – see above.

Clean Walls upgrade from Sci Fi I – Nothing indicated as yet.

Data jacks and matrix decks. - There are wall hanging consoles provided that could fit this function.
.
As holographic tech is present, a holo deck add on, offering mini expansions to different environments – No Holodeck is planned.

Cross over elements from the previous sets in different colours or with different art? I.e. cargo crates in colours other than red / yellow, different colour chairs (maybe purple?!), different art for the work stations / consoles and even airlock doors? – Add- Ons K & L have provided some of this, Further Tweaks and changes to art to items in this Kickstarter is planned

Arc door inserts like the jail forcefields form the Sci Fi set (for rescue missions) – Nothing indicated as yet.

Floor Tiles - Nothing indicated as yet. As Core Space is single level, this one may not be likely in this KS.

Girders that come down on both sides and with slots on the top – to work with SCI Fi II to support all the railings/ gantries. – May make it into a sheet

Additional spawn markers with the numbers 7-12 so that all entrances can be covered on a larger map.. Getting hold of d12 should be no problem for most gamers – BS said “Good point, we have this noted already, space willing we hope to do this. Smile

Turbines from previous sets – BS said: “As we progress through the campaign we will add more add-ons so let see what happens and what peeps want to see, same for bundles too, that could come after funding based on the above. Probably won't do the turbines as they're so readily available”

Purple plasma reactor – A variant Plasma Reactor is available in Add On K.

Elevators - Elevators available in the Frontier and Galactic Add-ons

Cyberpunk style small elevators for urban buildings - Nothing indicated as yet, but very unlikely since the core game is single level.

Wanted poster tokens of each character complete with a bounty. The size should enable it to be located in a crate. It could act as a warrant- BS were keen on this idea and added that Zed already has a bounty on his head on one of the cyber display signs.

Landing Pad - Nothing indicated as yet. Not likely as there’s already an Arrivals Bay available and the crews enter/exit through airlocks and spawn points.

Columns/pillars like the ones in the gothic set – Could be used to add some irregularity in rooms by putting them against walls or for cover. The reverse side could have a screen, ads or graffiti. – Nothing indicated as yet. The Gothic Crawler is an Add On.
