On the off chance the creators (KNEEL MORTALS) happen by and take notice and are interested in design steer from the community, how dirty do you like your clean rooms to be?

Clean or dirty does it matter? I can see why Alien infestation would be an issue but grime your pristine? You can probably tell that I don't really care and there isn't an option for that. A reskin with different surfaces, now I could get worked up about that. It currently looks sci fi industrial, so below decks on Babylon 5 or behind the scenes at your friendly local Death Star, perfect for the lower levels of a Necromunda Hive, but not really the internals of a space ship. Being clean wouldn't change that I don't think.

When I say clean, I'm referring to the second wall texture from one of the late SGs (I'd link but I'm lazy). Can't speak for others but it matters to me because it effects the continuity of the layout.

Single sided walls will effectively allow me to create a clean room interior, but double sided means the "dirty" corridors and rooms around will (to my mind) disjointedly be off-textured because of the med-lab (or whatever) on the other side of the wall. Just feels odd to me, and my OCD won't let that happen which will restrict the add-on utility severely (for me). YMMV

Space Dolphin, I see, well that makes sense and isn't at all OCD. You want it to look right after all. In which case you should have either single sided for a clean room or a full clean set. But I am still of the opinion that the actual skin needs to change as having a clean version of what we have doesn't make it anymore space shippy. I think you actually need a space ship interior skin for that the work.

Thanks for altering the poll, I vote for the hot tub. But the voting options don't work from my iPad.

for me the choice here is a no-brainer - option 3, having 2 dirty/clean walls, a double clean wall and a double clean door gives the best possible opportunity to integrate the clean room(s) into our space ship/station.

It will allow us to build the clean room surrounded by dirty rooms, with the fully clean wall allowing larger clean rooms to be split up, and of course if you split a clean room in two, you need a double clean door as well. Ideally you might also have a door which was clean on one side and dirty on the other - something for the future perhaps, but for now a double clean will mean a clean doorway in a dirty room/corridor somewhere and that will at least indicate the function of the room beyond the door.

penal - I'm pretty sure this poll is really all about the integration of clean rooms into the normal "dirty" base, specifically the clean room set that is available within the confines of the kickstarter. A fully clean base is a different matter and one that I think quite a lot of people would support in the long run. That's definitely something for much further down the line though.

For the infested walls they've gone for infested on both sides of all the walls and the door. I can't say I'm happy with that solution as it will mean that infested areas look infested from the outside, which doesn't fit in my mind with the surprise of a character opening a door and discovering a room full of alien eggs or a particularly nasty creature or something. I definitely wanted a mix of double sided walls that would allow us to split up infected areas, but also single sided so we could isolate the infected area from the rest of the terrain.

On the plus side, it does look they will be doing the mixed option for the clean rooms. Of course this makes the infected decision even more strange.
